This program is better than all the Windows IRC clients around at
the moment, even if it is not finished. The interface is very simple to
navigate and use, and speedy also. You can change all the internal
parameters of the program, either using the simple config page or through
the xml configuration file. It currently has support for color, command
and irc themes (*** You have been kicked by NICK can become *** NICK
kicked you, or whatever you like). The more people who use it while it's
beta, the faster all the bugs are ironed out, and more features
implemented. WTG Hydra :)

Hydra is an IRC (Internet relay chat) program like ICQ, Bersirc, Klient, Trillian, and Xircon. Why another one? The author has tried 30 IRC clients in search of a good one, but decided to write one that's better. The program's Web site explains how Hydra differs from the aforementioned clients and the features it includes, many of which are quite "techie," such as the writing the program in C++ with modern tools, using WTL/ATL, using XML for configuration files, and reliable server / network reconnects. Power users connect to many servers and channels when using IRC. Doing this can cause the system to slow down to snail speed and eat CPU time. Hydra supposedly functions better and allows you to connect to as many servers as your computer and Internet connection can handle. [Meryl] NoNags - Read full review
